Even a few weeks ago, this might have been surprising. For most people, Teabagging is a new and dramatic pastime. Yesterday it might have been far easier to take the safe road, like watching TV --- especially if The Price is Right is on --- or knitting.
Thousands, however, took the leap of the faithful and Tea-bagged in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and even Batesville, Arkansas, a newcomer to the Tea-bagging phenomenon.

I always beleived tht you can't borrow your way out of debt. I'm glad that there are many who blieve the same.
With all due respect, the tea-bagging references are getting to be a tad bit puerile, aren't they? It may have been almost funny the first couple of times - but at this point, can't we mature the discourse a bit?
Every other post is about war, terrorism, and economic collapse. Aren't we allowed an occasional dick joke?
This isn't an "occasional dick joke". The tea-bagging reference has been the undercurrent of much of the coverage of the tea parties. At first this was a humorous quip, but it has since gone beyond that.
I'm not in the least bit offended by it - it just comes across as juvenile.

I guess "occasional dick jokes" deserve their own tag, and multiple stories as well right. Every time I read the coverage articulated as such, I keep saying the same thing...how old are these guys?

Speaking only for myself, rather than the EA team....
If this had been a protest with substance rather than a rather shadow product of polarised politics, whipped up by certain folks in the media (yes, you know who you are), I'd give it respect rather than a Teabagging.
So, who's up for a cuppa?

I think you might be missing my point. I don't care whether you show the tea parties any respect, as stated prior I am not insulted in the slightest. I guess it just depends on whether or not you want to be taken seriously. Certainly the cadence of your blog should be more light hearted than...let's say - Prospects for Peace, however, one should mind their words as to reflect the impression that is desired.
Personal opinion only, and frankly, I might be alone in this. Just thought I'd provide my two cents.

Appreciate the point very much. I suspect the line between profound and puerile is a fine one, and it can easily be crossed.
That said, I have been smiling at the rather desperate attempt by Fox (and by some political supporters of the Tea Parties) to jump --- belatedly --- all over MSNBC's parody. I think the initial Teabagging by Maddow, building on Web-chat, exposed the TPs for the emotive but politically threadbare enterprise that they had quickly become.
And tomorrow AM, I suspect we'll be taking a more serious look at the TPs after a disturbing Internet post that popped up this afternoon.
