On October 15, the University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy hosted a speech by former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Video cameras and photography were banned. However, students' protests during the conference were discreetly recorded.

I guess the people don't understand the concept of free speech. No one is forcing them to be there, they can choose not to be there, but if they are going to be there, at least they should have the decency to be civil.

people seem to forget that Hamas started shelling Israeli towns with rockets for weeks before Israel retaliated. Did Israel use too much force than necessary? Yes, but do they have the right to confront their attackers? absolutely.

I don't see a lot of people protesting Russian use of excessive force against the Georgians. Why is that?

"I don’t see a lot of people protesting Russian use of excessive force against the Georgians. Why is that?"

Maybe because it was Georgia that started the mini war last year as everyone now knows.

Does this also mean that Israel has the right to bomb the hell out of Lebanon because some soldiers are taken prisoner. Israel uses "excessive force" with the same frequency as most people brush their teeth---at least once a day and frequently more often than that. Exactly what one would expect from a colonial/settler state. Good thing the Zionist state has no future.

The last time I checked Hezbollah started shelling Israeli towns well before Israel started attacking. Didn't Russian also use excessive force? Why is Russia excessive force ok but Israel excessive force not ok? If we are going to condemn excessive force, then we should be consistent.

Such is the current discourse; a lot of people are just partisan hacks, no principles.

Zionist state has no future?

I think you should spend more time worrying about the future of the Arab states. The Arab states are suct in sorry shape with regards to: literacy levels, job creation, innovation, women's right etc

The future is really in doubt, I wonder how they can create jobs to accommodate all the workers who are going to be on the job market in the coming years.

Yes you read correctly Zionist state has no future. Look at the demographics, in a few years the jews will be a minority in the land between the Jordan River and the sea. At that point it will be clear that Israel is simply a 21st century South Africa. Where the majority allowed to vote they would simply elect a palestinian as prime minister and change the state of Israel to Palestine.

The Zionists dodged a demographic bullet, temporarily, when the Soviet Union collapsed and a million Russian Jews or so immigrated to Israel where they immediately were made superior to the native Palestinians.

There is no other large Jewish population in the world ready to immigrate to Israel and so the Israeli jews are destined to the fate of their good friends the Afrikaners.
