The Day After the Inauguration: Scott Lucas on the BBC World Service and Ireland's Newstalk

This morning I chatted with the BBC World Service's World Update about the Obama Inaugural, ranging across topics from Obama's style to relations with the Muslim world to the economic and foreign policy challenges.

Inauguration Day and the Day After: Scott Lucas on British Radio

A flurry of chats with radio stations this morning, picking up on both the excitement and American pride of the inauguration of the 44th President, Barack Hussein Obama, and on the challenges that he faces from The Day After the Big Party:

1. A long interview with Chris Mills of Kerrang! Radio on both the departing President ("Don't let the door hit your butt on the way out") and on the incoming President ("The speed of politics means it will be a short honeymoon").

Scott Lucas on BBC Radio Wales: The Obama Inauguration

Had a chance yesterday to chat about Tuesday's events in Washington. Afraid I played the Grumpy Old Man role (my father would be proud). I expressed optimism about the images on the day, given that Barack Obama is "one of the best speakers I have ever heard", but also concern tht the new President faces immediate challenges of substance with the economy and the situations in Gaza and Afghanistan.
