Scott Lucas on BBC World Service "Newshour"

I had the chance to discuss today's Bush-Obama "transition" meeting --- in a very light-hearted spirit --- with Robin Lustig of the BBC at 1300 GMT today.

The interview is just after the News Update at the halfway point of the programme.

The NYT has a slightly different take on things Scott- Obama's said some uncomplimentary things about Bush and they think the meeting will be "awkward":

Hey, I'm speculating, Stolberg is speculating. Truth is that nobody knows what will be said, whether it will be a photo-op or serious discussion, if Bush or Obama will try to seize the top dog status.

I suspect the really important discussions are going on amongst the supporting teams on issues like economy and Afghanistan/Iraq. This is all just show for the press (but I'm not complaining --- it got me a slot on World Service).
