(Forget) Iran's Elections: Bomb Tehran

No, it's not an exaggeration. At least not for John Bolton, former Assistant Secretary of State and US Ambassador to the United Nations (not to mention Winner of the Enduring America Global Irrelevancy Award). Not for The Wall Street Journal, which happily lets him call for war on its pages:

Many argue that Israeli military action will cause Iranians to rally in support of the mullahs' regime and plunge the region into political chaos. To the contrary, a strike accompanied by effective public diplomacy could well turn Iran's diverse population against an oppressive regime.

(Footnote: The Journal, which cannot be accused of subtlety, also runs an opinion piece by the even more short-on-information, long-on-polemic Con Coughlin, "Iran's Potemkin Election".)

I guess he feels compelled to say such things every once in awhile, lest the world forget what an incompetent ideologue he is.

I do, however, wonder why the WSJ has taken to printing the opinions of idiots.

We should be bombing Iran - on general principles. They are responsible for the maiming and death of American soldiers in Iraq. They have been supplying the technology and expertise to put together roadside bombs, the main source of fatality in Iraq.

No one needs a "call to war" in the pages of the WSJ - Iran is already at war with us.

Back during the 1980s at one point Reagan sank at least 30% of their navy. We need to be doing the same thing - because they very very very much deserve death and destruction. Start with the army and air force bases.
