Iran Feature: Tehran v. the "Zion" Logo of the 2012 Olympics

You can't be too careful these days.

You may have thought that the logo for the 2012 Olympics in London was an innocent light-blue collection of jagged shapes around the five rings.

You are wrong.

Iran's sporting officials have formally complained to the International Olympic Committee, "As Internet documents have proved, using the word Zion in the logo of the 2012 Olympic Games is a disgracing action and against the Olympics' valuable mottos. There is no doubt that negligence of the issue from your side may affect the presence of some countries in the Games, especially Iran which abides by commitment to the values and principles."

Apparently Tehran's officials not only have special abilities in art criticism but also have gotten copies of the WikiLeaks cables still to be released, since the "Internet documents" have eluded our best efforts to find them. And International Olympic Committee's Jacques Rogge has insisted, "No, [this] can't be serious. We will quietly reply, telling [Iran] the logo has nothing to do with racism or any political connotation."

But of course he would say that, wouldn't he? Here is the proof of the athletic plot for Israeli supremacy:
