New Sanctions on Iran?

A very knowledgeable reader writes:
"The Americans are talking about intensifying sanctions on Iran. There are rumours that a black list may be drawn up of non-US companies who are dealing with Iran with the implication that US companies will not be permitted to do business with those companies on the list."

Any further information/thoughts on this most welcome....

Sounds foolish. Ford and GM have their eyes set on the Russian market (the second hottest foreign market after China) and they NEED partnerships with Russian automakers. Avto VAZ, GM's partner and Russia's largest car company, does business with Iranian firms that manufacture spare parts.

Mazdas are also assembled in Iran and Ford has a large stake in the company.

It sounds a little similar to Helms-Burton
