Iran's New Haircut Law: First Culprit Identified!

On Monday, EA helped break the news that Iran's Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance had unveiled the "proper" haircuts that should be sported by Iranian men:

Now EA's hard-working Iranian correspondents bring you an exclusive. The Iranian authorities have already posted a photograph of the first rule-breaker....

The suspect, we understand, is one Imam Ali. So far, it is unknown whether Iranian officials will accept the defense that, since the accused is the first Shi'a Imam, he might know a thing or two about whether shoulder-length hair and Islam can live together peacefully.

Great choice of headgear colour as well!

What? Imam Ali had green eyes? Is the rebel a love-child?

Seen on Twitter:
"Mullets decreed illegal in Iran. At last, something we agree on."
:-)

Seen in a post by Megan today: "Islamic republic is more focused on its people's hair than the content of their skulls".

Ouch! That's the kind of truth that hurts. I hope people write that on Iranian blogs in response to this latest silliness about haircuts and hejab.

Let's see what Ahmadinejad thinks about this!! His interview about 6 years ago:

But this is not Ali. I suppose it's Abbas, Husayn's half-brother.

July 12, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterFahad

Fahad I think you are right, but Imam Ali also had rather long hair (according to all the images I have seen) http://www.imamali.com/en/e-index.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.imamali.com/en/e-index.html

For Westerners, all these imams look pretty much similar (except the hidden one; he disappeared at age 5 yr). Sort of Jesus-like. Iranians can easily distinguish them. Would be interesting to learn when these images had appeared and then spread to all Shi'a communities. Any idea? Interested.

Fahad,

How do you know that? Have you seen him?

Hey Arshama, this one looks like a cross between Imam Ali and the Octopus Paul!!!

:-)

Here you can see all of them. The hidden one is the most left. He looks apparently quite different.

Again, who is the 'artist' and when did he draw his picture?

July 12, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterFahad

This representation (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/intro/images/imam-ali-image01.jpg" rel="nofollow">http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/intro/im...) has a bit of a Holy Trinity thing going for it, wouldn't you say? :-)

But what I *really* want to know is why it's on the military menu of the Global Security website......

Hi Catherine,

Thanks for this excellent mixture ;-)
But in fact this is an extra "holy" picture, because it avoids human representation. After all Islam is roughly 600 years behind...

Thank you, Fahad, for this picture.
I guess this is a combined depiction of the Panj Tan (five saints) and the 12 Imams. As such our handsome "law-breaker" cannot be Abbas, but should be Hassan ibn Ali or Hossein ibn Ali, one of Imam Ali's sons.

As to your question, you are probably on the wrong site -- too many kaafar here ;-)

Arshama,
This "kaafar" :-) only counts 3 saints in the combo portrait - and the guy on the right with the Apache look is most definitely Imam Hussein!

Farhad,

The artist most likely was an Akhound (mullah) on Khalifeh (king, leader) payroll. His job was to provide images to make these fictional characters more believable to feeble minded masses. The more the masses were fooled the longer Khalifeh stayed in power. These fellows only existed in Khalifeh’s head.

Catherin,

Re: post 12:21 on 7/12

This beast looks like the cross pollination between Ahmadinejad and Khamenei.

July 14, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMegan

Catherine,

Forgive me, please. The other two saints, Mohammad and Fatemeh, are only represented by their names on both sides of the combo middleman. As a genuine kaafar I had to look up the five names, and reading these two names gave me this idea. Take five ;-)

I won't bet with on your identification, just found this picture, where the guy on the right is named Abbas -- Fahad was right: http://i3.tinypic.com/23vdb7k.jpg" rel="nofollow">http://i3.tinypic.com/23vdb7k.jpg

Arsham,
Can't be - no feathers! :-)
Anyways,I got very similar-looking guys in green no matter who I googled - Hussein, Abbas or Ali! :-) Google images is totally kaafar!

RE: Mohammad and Fatemeh, are only represented by their names on both sides of the combo middleman.
OK, OK - I give up on that one :-)

Did anybody notice the picture Farhad provided, shows Imam 12th with face mask? Is he hiding his face from a basiji thug to avoid solitary confinement in Evin prison or is he a she and wants to have the last laugh when Mesbah Yazdi and Ahmadi find that out?

Gee, I am having too much fun. Is that allowed or will I get a star and be banned from EA? LOL

July 14, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMegan

Megan,
You are really on to something now - if the 12th Imam is wearing a "full face veil" ..... that can only mean one thing. :-)
And "he" better not re-appear in France - that's for sure!
